This is a Bible study tool designed to take us through the entire Bible in 2 years. Six days a week (Monday through Saturday) there will be a post telling you what the assigned readings are. Some days there will also be comments from me. These are intended to provide material for devotional meditation and practical application. Please feel welcome to post questions or comments so that we can encourage each other. May God bless our study!
It is easy to see why there is such strife in the Middle East today. While reading both Kings and Chronicles there seems to be constant references to the size of Armies, the numbers of warriors, and of course the battle conflicts. It almost seems like war, which we know is caused by sin, is so engrained in that part of the world as the solution. In the Old Testament (Law) God utilized war to protect his people as well as punishment. In the New Testament (Gospel) God utilizes the death of his Son on the cross to protect his people and provide forgiveness. It seems like those religons that focus on Law (Jewish & Muslim) continue to focus on punishment of their enemies. They do not see, nor do they understand the concept of forgiveness exemplified by Christ's death.
To God be the Glory and thanks for opening our eyes to forgiveness. Please grant us the wisdom to follow the Law, but rely on your Gospel examples for forgiveness.
